Wood can now be processed into a super-material with extraordinary properties – and a wood-based, climate-saving economy is just what the planet needs

DID you hear about the wooden car, with wooden wheels, a wooden chassis and a wooden engine? “Wood could be used in cars,” says materials scientist Liangbing Hu at the University of Maryland. People wear wooden clothes and use mobile phones made from wood.
