The Korean War Prisoner Who Never Came Home (2013)
Corporal Dunn was the last Korean War prisoner who never came home. At the time the armistice agreement was signed, in July, 1953, by an American and a North Korean general on what is now the de facto border between the two Koreas, twenty-three American prisoners of war refused to be repatriated to the United States. One Marine private, McKnight said, testified after the war that “he owed his life to Dunn for sharing his food with him, giving him his blanket, and taking care of him when he was sick.”
