How to Build a Universe That Doesn’t Fall Apart Two Days Later (1978)
Just think: Someone in this world is an authority on the topic of whether mice can or cannot put on two-tone shoes, derby hats, pinstriped shirts, and Dacron pants, and pass as humans. The story was about a real dog, and I used to watch him and try to get inside his head and imagine how he saw the world. It was always my hope, in writing novels and stories which asked the question “What is reality?”
