License Utopia

In short: one permissive license, with optional credit, plus three copyleft licenses—consistent, selective, and historical—likewise with optional credit. The standardized permissive license would serve the needs of BSD-school, anti-IP hackers, large companies releasing software as loss leaders, standards reference implementations, and academics who want citation, and don’t care about other forms or credit. Software under the permissive license, with or without optional credit, could be freely combined with code under any of the copyleft licenses.
