Cloudflare’s CTO Wants to Shake Up How We Think About VPNs

Over 600,000 people are currently on the waitlist for Cloudflare’s Warp, which the company is positioning as a mobile VPN app that “doesn’t suck.” After his talk at the Dublin Tech Summit this month, Cloudflare’s Chief Technology Officer, John Graham-Cumming spoke to us about how the company wants to modernize VPNs services, the proliferation of DDoS attacks, the rise of conspiracy theorists, and the power big companies have to control the internet. From a corporate perspective, most people will think of that as how I connect to my company, to get access to my email, or other things they can only do through a VPN.
