Netscape’s Internet Foundation Classes (1996)

Netscape’s Internet Foundation Classes (IFC) aim to provide a base Java API, improving Sun’s core Java Development Kit (JDK) classes. Netscape is in a good position to ensure that its own classes, including IFC, become standards as they will be included with its browsers. As well as installation instructions and release notes, the IFC development toolkit comes with two sets of web page documentation: a developers guide and the class reference.
