Mark Sanchez, the school board’s vice president, later told me that simply concealing the murals wasn’t an option because it would “allow for the possibility of them being uncovered in the future.” Arnautoff’s work, the group concluded in February, “glorifies slavery, genocide, colonization, Manifest Destiny, white supremacy, oppression, etc.” The art does not reflect “social justice,” the group said, and it “is not student-centered if it’s focused on the legacy of artists, rather than the experience of the students.” Mr. Sanchez, the board vice president, told me: “A grave mistake was made 80 years ago to paint a mural at a school without Native American or African-American input.

The use of the Old configuration with modern versions of OpenSSL may require custom builds with support for deprecated ciphers. For services with clients that support TLS 1.3 and don’t need backward compatibility, the Modern configuration provides an extremely high level of security. This configuration is compatible with a number of very old clients, and should be used only as a last resort.

On average, the tests show that equally-skilled players should expect an 18 percent difference in their scores. The largest difference in scores was 81.3 percent; despite using the same strategy, one player earned 623 points, and the other earned 263. By visiting this website, players can plug in their Scrabble scores to get an idea of how confident they should be in their wins and losses—the amount of luck in Scrabble can make it difficult to judge one’s own skill level.

(CNN) — Federal prosecutors have expanded their probe beyond the Boeing 737 Max aircraft to the Boeing 787 Dreamliner, The Seattle Times reported Friday, citing two sources familiar with the investigation. The Department of Justice subpoenaed Boeing for records pertaining to the Dreamliner’s production in South Carolina amid claims of subpar work, the sources told the Times. A third source told the Times that several individual employees at the Dreamliner production plant in North Charleston, South Carolina, had received subpoenas in early June from the “same group” of prosecutors working on the 737 Max investigation.

Based on careful study of fossilized teeth, scientists Keegan Melstom and Randall Irmis at the Natural History Museum of Utah at the University of Utah have found that multiple ancient groups of crocodyliforms—the group including living and extinct relatives of crocodiles and alligators—were not the carnivores we know today, as reported in the journal Current Biology on June 27. Credit: NHMU
To infer what those extinct crocodyliforms most likely ate, Melstrom and his graduate advisor, chief curator Randall Irmis, compared the tooth complexity of extinct crocodyliforms to those of living animals using a method originally developed for use in living mammals. Melstrom says they are continuing to reconstruct the diets of extinct crocodyliforms, including in fossilized species that are missing teeth.

I admired the book she wrote about her long affair with Shawn, mainly because I feel that writers should write, and let other people argue about whether they like what they’ve written or not. ‘The book came as a shock to many people who had known William Shawn,’ she wrote:
But to Lillian that was all just ‘crackpot stuff’. By the time I knew her, Lillian was struggling against a sense that she had caused pain to Shawn’s widow, Cecille, who was still alive, and permanently changed the public view of that most quiet and dedicated of New Yorker editors.

Toshiba does not disclose the impact the outage will have on its NAND wafer supply in the coming months, but confirms that the fabs are partially suspended at the moment. The Yokkaichi Operations campus jointly owned and run by Toshiba and Western Digital produces about 35% of the global NAND output in terms of revenue, according to TrendForce. Considering that the Yokkaichi Operations produces at least 1/3 of the global NAND flash output (let’s assume that dollar share more or less corresponds to bit share) and half of its production for the quarter was lost because of the incident, this means that the industry will miss approximately 1/6 (or 16.5%) of the global NAND supply in Q3.

The two graphs plot the time required by each approach to match the regular expression n n against the string n.
Notice that Perl requires over sixty seconds to match a 29-character string. As a simple example, here is a machine recognizing the set of strings matched by the regular expression :
A finite automaton is always in one of its states, represented in the diagram by circles. This NFA is equivalent to the previous two, but the unlabeled arrow makes the correspondence with clearest:
Regular expressions and NFAs turn out to be exactly equivalent in power: every regular expression has an equivalent NFA (they match the same strings) and vice versa.

RE: Open Letter from the OpenID Foundation to Apple Regarding Sign In with Apple
The OpenID Foundation applauds Apple’s efforts to allow users to login to third-party mobile and Web applications with their Apple ID using OpenID Connect. Known differences between the two are tracked in a document managed by the OIDF certification team, found here: current set of differences between OpenID Connect and Sign In with Apple reduces the places where users can use Sign In with Apple and exposes them to greater security and privacy risks. Therefore the OpenID Foundation invites Apple to:
The OpenID Foundation and the community at large would appreciate Apple’s feedback.
