I’ve been really happy with 1Password, but it seems 1Password does not have a Linux client. They have what seems to be a browser extension (1PasswordX), but so far I’ve hated the 1Password browser extension on OSX, so I can’t imagine using that full time on Linux. With that said, I’m super happy with 1Password’s UX on OSX.

While cybercriminals have abused the service in the past to host their phishing attacks, researchers from FireEye noticed a dramatic increase lately, compared to the last quarter of 2018. “Attackers find these well-known and trusted sites useful because they bypass initial domain reputation checks performed by security engines,” FireEye researchers explain in the company’s email threat report for the three months of the year. Their statistics reveal that 58% of the phishing websites detected this year were using the secure HTTP protocol; this is 12% less than what the company saw in the previous quarter.

Mirror Source – An AWS network resource that exists within a particular VPC, and that can be used as the source of traffic. VPC Traffic Mirroring supports the use of Elastic Network Interfaces (ENIs) as mirror sources. I open the VPC Console and scroll down to the Traffic Mirroring items, then click Mirror Targets:

President Trump on Monday pushed for greater price disclosure in health care, signing an executive order that could make thousands of hospitals expose more pricing information and require doctors, health clinics and others to tell patients about out-of-pocket costs upfront. Some health analysts said exposing rates could reveal more information about costs and actually fuel support for Medicare for All, a goal backed by some Democratic presidential candidates that would set upper limits on hospital reimbursements. In addition to a rule on hospital prices, the order requires federal agencies in 90 days to pursue a plan for requiring providers and insurers to give patients upfront, out-of-pocket cost information.

The university announced that they’ve managed to build a device that can store huge amounts of data on small glass discs using laser writing. Each one of these glass storage discs can hold a whopping 360 terabytes of data, which is remarkable.

I have a growing sense of unease about the Americanisation of British society’s attitude towards mental health. Attitudes to mental illness 50 years ago were undoubtedly crude and prejudicial, and many patients with treatable problems were denied help that would have transformed their lives because they stayed silent.
