The developer who tried, and failed, to get Microsoft to cut ties with ICE I’ve been contributing to   for more than a decade. Open-source software was developed because large corporations like Microsoft were charging ungodly sums for software and making it inaccessible for people who needed basic tools to function in the world. Microsoft has major contracts with ICE and other Homeland Security divisions that are engaged in what I consider civil- and human-rights abuses. The senior engineer who quit Google in protest of its relationship with China I found out about Project Dragonfly on August 1, 2018, when   report came out, as did most engineers.
