An Exploration of Variable Fonts (2018)

In order to better understand how variable fonts are made and what they can do, we invited the type designer David Jonathan Ross to lead an exploratory workshop on the subject. Later in the day, we explored the immersive opportunities of Variable Fonts through the design of new font axes. Variable fonts being flexible and configurable, they can result in variations that the type designer didn’t imagine, which is something that hasn’t really happened before.
