Moving now to the bottom of the S/360 line, the Model 20 was intended for business applications.9 Its storage was limited, just 4K to 32K bytes of core storage, and it was extremely slow even by 1960s standards, performing about 5700 additions per second. The Model 20’s small console (above) allowed the operator to turn the computer on and off, load a program, and so forth.
