Boom XB-1 Baby Boom

Boom XB-1 Baby Boom

The Boom XB-1 Baby Boom is a one-third-scale supersonic demonstrator designed by Boom Technology, it should maintain Mach 2.2, with over 1,000 nmi (1,900 km) of range. The XB-1 Baby Boom one-third-scale supersonic demonstrator was initially intended to make its first subsonic flight in late 2017, powered by three General Electric CJ610 turbojets (a civilian J85), with subsequent supersonic flight testing at Edwards AFB. [4] In 2017, the composite wing spar was load tested while being heated in an hydraulic testbed in an oven reaching 300 °F (149 °C), above the heat soak operational temperature.
