A household wealth level at the 97.5 percentile ($1.36M) is achievable for the average U.S. physician. That income is less than 80% of the average U.S. household income. Thorp also used the Forbes 400 list and Vilfredo Pareto’s “power law” to estimate the number of U.S. households at each wealth level.
