GraphQL Query Rewriter

GraphQL Query Rewriter

GraphQL Schema Rewriter can rewrite much more complex queries than just changing a single input type as well. This middleware goes directy before your handler in express:

rewrites the type of an argument to a graphQL query or mutation. For example, to migrate the mutation to a mutation with a proper output payload type like:

we can make this change with the following rewriter:

For example, This would rewrite the following mutation:

and turn it into:

Currently GraphQL Query Rewriter can only work with a single operation per query, and cannot properly handle aliased fields.

Ways to break your systems code using volatile

Ways to break your systems code using volatile

The behavior of any given C implementation (a compiler plus target machine) must produce the same side effects as the abstract machine, but otherwise the standard mandates very little correspondence between the abstract machine and computation that actually happens on the target platform. The C standard gives us just a few ways to establish a connection between the abstract and actual machines:

Most C implementations offer additional mechanisms, such as inline assembly and extra library functions not mandated by the standard. The way the volatile connects the abstract and real semantics is this:

Historically, the connection between the abstract and actual machines was established mainly through accident: compilers weren’t good enough at optimizing to create an important semantic gap.

Project Zero: The Definitive Guide on Win32 to NT Path Conversion (2016)

Project Zero: The Definitive Guide on Win32 to NT Path Conversion (2016)

Somewhere in Explorer something is passing one of these shell names to a file API, which is interpreting it as a Drive Relative path for the ‘:’ drive. The conversion rules are pretty simple; the path is canonicalized as per the usual rules, although in this case the root is considered to be the share name not the drive letter; and finally the leading path separators are replaced with the string ‘ ’, which routes to the Multiple UNC Provider (MUP) driver which handles dispatching the request to the appropriate remote file system provider. For example, if you wanted to write data to the first COM port you could issue the following command:

The list of supported special case device names are as follows:

This behavior was emulated in the path conversion process so that these plain names are converted to Local Device paths, which end up with the correct NT path.

Coverage of a Disinformation Operation Against 2019 EU Parliamentary Elections

This visualization shows that, by-and-large, each tweet received engagement from a separate group of users, with only slight overlap – i.e. each published tweet received engagement (retweets) from a separate, unique group of accounts. NewsCompact and PartisanDE were both in the top three most engaged accounts in the EU election conversation space on Twitter two weeks ago. Since both accounts post content that is far-right, racist, and highly partisan, one has to wonder what effect they’ve had on the EU election conversation space on Twitter over the past few weeks.

Cities Became Rat Free

Cities Became Rat Free

“If it weren’t for rats, I wouldn’t have had a job,” says Phil Merrill, head of the rat control programme in the Canadian province of Alberta. The rat control programme itself costs less than C$500,000 (US$372,000) annually, covering salaries for Merrill, six rat control zone officers and bait. The ARC estimated that if each farm had 20 rats and each household one rat, then the rat population of Alberta would be 2.1m.

Larry Roy, who co-wrote the ARC report, says he thinks it was “a very good, believable estimate at that time”.
